President

LeighMarie Weber

LeighMarie Weber, a junior from Williston Park, New York is the Student Government Association President for the 2012-2013 Academic School Year.  Leigh is studying Speech and Hearing Science with a minor in social Gerontology and is beyond ecstatic about the job she has ahead of her. Leigh became involved with the Student Government Association within the first two days of stepping foot on campus her freshman year. She started out as a senator, and was quickly moved up to the executive board as the parliamentarian, that November of her freshman year. During her sophomore year, Leigh received the role of the executive assistant to the president, where she created and planned the very successful event of Fall Fest. Her junior year for sure will be the biggest year of her life both in terms of an academic and professional standpoint; however she is excited and ready for the challenge. Leigh has always been hopeful for an opportunity like this to cross her way, and to actually see her dream becoming a vivid reality is incredibly remarkable and rewarding. She has always found that helping others has been a true passion of hers, and through this association, she has been able to do just that! Leigh looks forward to a fantastic year working with the faculty, administration and students to make SUNY Cortland an even better place to be!
