Visiting Student Registration Process

Summer 2017 Registration

Summer Registration opens on April 3, 2017 at 8am for visiting students who have completed the Visiting Student Form.

Visiting student registration is only open to visiting (non-matriculated) and cross-registering students.  If you are planning to study at SUNY Cortland as a visiting student, you will complete the following steps.

  1. Complete the Visiting Student form (Available March 29)

The visiting student form will be available beginning at 9:00am on Wednesday, March 29, 2017. You will complete this form in order to be formally entered as a visiting Cortland student. You are encouraged to submit early so you have access to registration as soon as it becomes available to you.

All visiting students (including returning visiting students and former degree-seeking students) will complete the form, which will be used to add you as a non-matriculated student for the upcoming term.

  2. Register online with your Cortland credentials beginning on April 3.

The Registrar's Office will provide you with your initial username and password to gain access to the system. You will login, change your password, and register for classes during the open registration windows. You will receive specific registration window details when you complete the Visiting Student Application. You must register before the web registration closing date to register online. After that point, you are required to petition via the Alternate Registration form.

Access is granted as part of an overnight account process. Please review your email thoroughly to see when you will be able to access the system.

When registering online, you will be required to complete the Code of Conduct acknowledgement and sign up for NY-Alert (emergency notification system).

  3. Pay your course tuition and fees online.

You will be billed electronically, and payment will be due within 72 hours of registration. Students who fail to provide payment during this timeframe will be deregistered.
