Undergraduate Ceremonies

Saturday, May 18, 2019, at the Park Center Alumni Arena.

  • Ceremony A 9:30 a.m 
  • Undergraduate reception 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Lusk Field House
  • Ceremony B 2:30 p.m.
  • Undergraduate reception 4 to 5 p.m. Lusk Field House
  • Ceremony C 7 p.m.
  • Tickets are required for entry. Doors open one hour prior to each ceremony and tickets will be scanned upon arrival. Students should report to Park Center Corey Gymnasium one hour before the start of each ceremony.

Safety Inspections

SUNY Cortland cares about the safety of its new graduates and their families. As a precaution, backpacks and other items may be inspected before visitors enter the Alumni Arena for Commencement ceremonies. The College appreciates your cooperation in making this a safe and memorable event.

Volunteer and earn an extra ticket for your ceremony!

As an undergraduate, you can volunteer to be a student usher and earn an extra guest ticket for your ceremony.

2019 Ceremony Assignment

All undergraduate ceremonies are located in the Park Center Alumni Arena. Commencement takes place on Saturday, May 18, 2019.  Graduating students are assigned either the morning, afternoon or evening ceremony.

  • Bachelor’s Degree Ceremony A: 9:30 a.m.
  • Bachelor’s Degree Ceremony B: 2:30 p.m.
  • Bachelor’s Degree Ceremony C: 7 p.m.

Student ceremony assignments are based on the department of their primary major. Students may refer to the Student Information Summary available in the Student Links channel of myRedDragon to determine their primary and secondary major departments.

** Department assignments will rotate in future ceremonies. The ceremony schedules will be updated in the preceding fall semester. 


Attend rehearsal Friday, May 17 at 2:30 p.m. in the Park Center Alumni Arena. Instructions for the day of the ceremony, including line-up procedures, will be provided. All candidates for graduation are encouraged to attend. Rehearsal will last approximately 30 minutes.
