First-Year Orientation and Transfer Orientation and Advisement

Summer Orientation 2017

Welcome new students! We are excited you will be joining SUNY Cortland this fall. Be sure to join us for your summer Orientation program to learn about Cortland, meet new people, and register for fall classes.

  • Orientation sessions take place mid-June through mid-July.
  • All sessions occur Monday - Friday.
  • Your academic major determines the specific dates available to you. View the list of First-Year Orientation or Transfer Orientation dates.
  • Sessions dates are assigned on a first-come, first-serve basis. Reserve your space through myRedDragon starting in early May. (Please note you must pay your admissions deposit prior to signing up for Orientation.)

Get Ready!

  • Complete each of the tasks on the New Student Checklist (received in your acceptance packet)
  • First-Year students: Complete your Course Information Form (after signing up for Orientation)

Family members and guests are invited to attend the Family Orientation program. Visit the Family Members and Guests page for specific program information, including fees for attending. Sign up to attend with your student when they sign up for orientation through myRedDragon.

Arriving at Orientation

Transfer Orientation and Advisement

  • Check-in at 8:15 a.m.
  • Parking is in the Park Center parking lot. Get directions.
  • A shuttle bus will bring you to check-in.

First-Year Orientation

  • Check-in at 10 a.m. in Corey Union.
  • Parking is in the Park Center parking lot. Get directions.
  • A shuttle bus will bring you to check-in. Be sure to bring all of your belongings with you on the shuttle.
