Room Selection Process

RSP Timeline for 2015-2016



Feb. 16- Mar. 3 Information meetings take place, freshmen and new transfers must attend
Wed. Mar. 4 $150 room deposit due by 4 p.m.
Fri., Mar. 6 Online RSP Housing Form due by midnight
Fri., Mar. 6 Full Group Form due by midnight (if applicable)
Fri., Mar. 20 View your RSP Time Ticket
Mar. 24-27 Full Group Selection (based on your time ticket)
Tues., Mar. 31 Regular room selection begins (based on your time ticket)
Tues., Apr. 14 Choose your room by 4 p.m.

Pay Your Room Deposit

Pay one of two ways:

  • At Student Accounts, Miller Building, Room 323, between 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
  • With your Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover Card on myRedDragon
    • Under the Student Tab and the Residence Life and Housing section choose "Pay Room Deposit Online"
    *Student staff members, EOP students, C.U.R.E. students, and RHA/NRHH executive officers will receive a room deposit waiver in the mail. This must be turned in by the $150 room deposit deadline. You will be billed for the deposit.

Fill Out Your RSP Housing Form

  1. Log in to your myRedDragon
  2. Select the “Student” tab
  3. Under Residence Life and Housing select “Housing Forms for Continuing/Returning Students”
  4. Select “Room Selection Process (RSP) Form”
  5. Review the RSP Information PowerPoint
  6. Answer all questions as prompted and read the Room and Board License. Print a copy of the form then select submit. By selecting “submit” you are providing your electronic signature and agreeing to the policies of the Room and Board / West Campus Licenses.
  7. You will receive your Housing ID. This will be needed when you choose your room.

Fill Out Your Full Group Form

Only one person from your group of four or six must complete this form. Provide your first and last names and your Housing ID to the person completing the form.

Choose Your Room

  1. Log in to your myRedDragon
  2. Select the “Student” tab
  3. Under Residence Life and Housing select “Housing Forms for Continuing/Returning Students”
  4. Select “Choose Your Room”
  5. Follow all the instructions listed on the screen.
    • If you chose a roommate you will be prompted to enter their Housing ID
    • Once you have selected a specific room there will be a five minute lock on it
    • Room availability will diminish as you are selecting, because other students are selecting at the same time
    • Use the refresh button to continue the lock for a limited period of time
  6. When you reach the final review page, select final submit only when you are sure of your choice
  7. Print a copy of your room assignment
  8. Check your room assignment by following these steps.

  • Thurs., Feb. 26, Corey Union, Function Room
  • Sun., Mar. 1, Corey Union, Function Room
  • Tues., Mar. 3, Corey Union, Room 301-303

Freshmen and new transfers are required to attend.

DeGroat Hall Renovation

DeGroat Hall, which will be open during the fall 2015, will be closing for renovation during the spring 2016 semester. All fall DeGroat students will be reassigned to another hall for the spring 2016 semester.
