Resumes, cover letters, and personal statements
If you are having difficulty getting started, Career Services has some brainstorming tips for you.
We offer drop-in resume and cover letter critiques Monday through Thursday from 1 to 3 p.m. during the academic semesters, no appointment needed. We also review graduate school application statements and essays. Stop by Van Hoesen Hall, Room B-5, or if more convenient, visit the Career Services WebEx Room during these hours and someone will help you online. First-come, first-served. If these hours do not work with your schedule, give us a call at 607-753-4715 and we'll schedule an appointment. During summer and winter breaks, resume/cover letter review appointments are available in Handshake. [Please bring a printed copy of your document(s) for in-person appointments.]
Remember, your resume and cover letter will lead to an interview. Career Services recommends that you check out our Interview Essentials page. Additionally, attend a workshop on Interview Essentials offered each semester, and schedule mock interviews for practice.
To set up an individual appointment, call 607-753-4715, or request an appointment on Handshake.
