Each spring, SUNY Cortland recognizes students for their academic achievements at the annual Honors Convocation. Students in the top five percent of their class are acknowledged and awards and scholarships are presented at the ceremony.
The 2017 Honors Convocation will take place on Saturday, April 22, at 7 p.m. in the Park Center Alumni Arena. Honors Convocation is an official college ceremony. Students are asked to wear professional attire.
The 2017 Honors Convocation Ceremony will be available via live stream and can be accessed here on the day of the event.
Students in the top five percent of their class will be notified in late February 2017. Invitations and letters from the President's Office will be mailed to students and families, respectively. Students in the top five percent are asked to RSVP by date provided in the letter and should follow the instructions provided.

Top Five Percent Honors for 2017:
Freshmen- 3.76 to 4.13
Sophomores: 3.86 to 4.22
Juniors: 3.83 to 4.21
Seniors: 3.90 to 4.27
Awards and scholarships that are presented at Honors Convocation are determined in early March. Students will be notified by the department or office that sponsors the award. Students should follow the RSVP instructions provided in the notification letter.
A reception will be held immediately following the ceremony for all students, guests, faculty and staff.
Please note: There are several academic events occurring the weekend of Honors Convocation, including various honor society inductions. Students will need to RSVP to events individually as indicated on each invitation.
