We've taken the issue of climate change seriously here at SUNY Cortland. There have been several initiatives in order to reduce our role in climate change on and around campus. From a Climate Action Plan, to community bikes, and even electric vehicles Cortland is actively looking for ways to reduce our carbon foot print. Take a look at some of the changes we have made so far.
SUNY Cortland is the first institution in the 64-campus SUNY system to operate all of its facilities using 100 percent renewable electrical energy.
As a charter signatory of the American College and University Climate Commitment, SUNY Cortland is committed to reducing energy use.
The Green Rep Program is designed to promote sustainability education and environmental awareness in the residence halls on the SUNY Cortland campus. A team of 16 individuals are hired as "GreenReps" each semester to educate the campus in all facets of sustainability.
