Welcome to the Writing Resource Center!
SUNY Cortland's Composition Program (CPN) is undergoing some exciting changes. As we work to bring our site up to date, here is some relevant information for faculty and students in CPN courses for the Fall semester of 2017:
Required Text for CPN 100 and 101
- Rhet Dragons: The Cortland Composition Handbook, 2017-2018. Fountainhead, 2017. ISBN: 1680366242.
Rhet Dragons is required for all sections of CPN 100 and 101.
Recommended Texts for CPN 100 and 101
- Clark, Carol Lea. Praxis: A Brief Rhetoric, 3rd Edition. Fountainhead Press, 2016. ISBN: 1598719505.
- Graff, Gerald, and Cathy Birkenstein. “They Say / I Say”: The Moves That Matter in Academic Writing, with 2016 MLA Update. 3 edition, W. W. Norton & Company, 2016. ISBN: 0393617432.
- Lunsford, Andrea A., et al. Everything’s an Argument with 2016 MLA Update. 7 edition, Bedford/St. Martin’s, 2016. ISBN: 131908575X.
While these are the recommended texts for the program, students should make sure to double-check which texts their instructors require for their specific CPN sections.
