Academic Courses and Programs
SUNY Cortland offers a variety of coursework and programs that focus on sustainability and environmental action. These programs and courses are offered within all three schools (Arts and Sciences, Professional Studies, and Education) and in a variety of disciplines.
SUNY Cortland offers two undergraduate majors and one minor that focus on sustainability issues. These are: Conservation Biology and Outdoor Recreation and minor in Environmental and Outdoor Education. At the graduate level, SUNY Cortland offers masters degrees that focus on sustainability and these are the M.S. in Recreation: Outdoor and Environmental Education, the M.S.Ed. in Recreation Education: Outdoor and Environmental Education and the Professional Science Masters in Sustainable Energy Systems.
Beginning with the Spring 2016 course schedule, students will be able to identify courses and course section identified with a sustainability attribute. This attribute indicates the course content has been review by the Campus Sustainability Curriculum Committee and determined to meet sustainability criteria.
