Equipment and Logistics Coordinator for Outdoor Activities

Qualifications

  • Required
    • Acceptance into SUNY Cortland graduate program in Recreation, Parks, and Leisure Studies 
    • Ability to maintain equipment inventory, use, and replacement statues in Excel
    • Knowledge of outdoor activities and associated gear and equipment requirements
    • Clean driving record/eligible for campus approval as 12 passenger van driver
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to prepare, maintain, load, inspect, and properly store a variety of outdoor equipment
  • Desired 
    • Wilderness First Aid or higher certification
    • 2 years or more outdoor activities experience

Relation to Educational Program

The Equipment and Logistics Coordinator supports the RPLS faculty in delivering safe, educational activities in outdoor environments.

Responsibilities

Update the inventory system of outdoor equipment Inspect and maintain gear so it is safe and operational Support RPLS faculty in scoping outdoor sites Prepare and inspect gear for safe and appropriate use in outdoor settings Load and unload gear in a safe manner Maintain organization of the equipment room Inspect gear and document replacement needs Acquire and provide information for purchasing or renewing equipment Assist with field-based outdoor activity courses as needed

Salary/Stipend

$1,750 stipend per semester, 10 hour / week obligation

Tuition Support

3 credits of tuition support per semester.
