Being able to instruct the undergraduate laboratory exercise physiology, biomechanics, and motor control and learning courses will further deepen the graduate student's understanding of the foundational principles for these three areas in preparation for when they take the graduate course on these advanced topics. Students pursuing doctoral programs will be expected to have some experience as a teaching assistant during their master's program. Many students from these graduate programs will be entering careers where they will be required to explain foundational exercise science/strength and conditioning concepts in general terms. They would be able to draw from their experiences instructing undergraduate students and how they had to diversify their approach to explaining complex concepts to students who do not have prior knowledge, much like what they will do in their future careers.
