Qualifications

  • Required
    • Acceptance into a SUNY Cortland graduate program
    • Strong writing and organizational skills
    • Availability to work on-campus 20 hours per week

    • Ability to problem-solve and complete tasks in a timely fashion
    • Proficiency in common software applications including Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint
    • Experience developing communication materials (including social media)

Relation to Educational Program

This position will enable the student to work collaboratively with faculty members in the History Department. The student will be engaged in academic work central to the history profession, including research, teaching-related activities, project management, and academic support.

Responsibilities

Provide support for faculty members by assisting in research and teaching-related activities and other academic activities, including individual and departmental research activities, assessment, data collection and analysis, support for grant development and implementation, and other projects as needed. Under the supervision of history faculty members, the graduate assistant may also provide academic support to undergraduate students enrolled in history courses.

Salary/Stipend

$7,500 for the academic year. Work obligation is 20 hours per week 

Tuition Support

Six graduate credits for the academic year
