In addition to being a useful resource for students, the Writing Center is also available to help faculty with all of their writing concerns. Whether constructing a new writing prompt, considering how to approach a writing intensive course, developing writing activities for the classroom, or even working on your own writing projects, our writing consultants are happy to assist however we can!
You can also find more writing resources specifically related to CPN courses at Cortland's Writing Resource Center page.
If you're looking to encourage your students to make use of the Writing Center more frequently, you might consider scheduling a writing consultant to come speak with your class. These class visits typically last 5-10 minutes and offer a brief overview of our services and philosophies; however, they can also be tailored specifically to your course and/or requirements. If you are interested in scheduling a class visit, just send an email to email@example.com and one of our staff will follow up with you about the details.
As noted elsewhere on our website, the Writing Center will be conducting a number of workshops throughout the semester open to all students across campus. However, we are also happy to work with you if you are interested in having us conduct a workshop specifically for your class or on a specific topic. We can also arrange it for a writing consultant to come work with you and your students for a class session or activity. If you think you would be interested in either scheduling a collaboration or talking through the possibilities of doing so, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Cortland Writing Center is currently developing a series of handouts covering a wide variety of topics directly (and indirectly) related to writing. We will make those available to you as we create them, but in the meantime, we have included a list of helpful online resources about writing for you and your students:
