C-Number: In order to better serve you, please have your Cortland C-number (if known) available when contacting us. When corresponding via email, please also include your C-number and complete name. For your safety and security, please do not include a social security number when corresponding via email.
Former Name: If you have changed your name since last attending SUNY Cortland, please be sure to include your former name when corresponding, so we may find your record.

Your Information Security
Social Security Numbers & Sensitive Data: E-mail is not a secure medium for sending sensitive information such as Social Security Numbers. SUNY Cortland's central email system filters are set to return e-mail to you if it determines that your message includes a Social Security Number.
SUNY Cortland Policy: According to policy, and due to email filters, we cannot receive or respond to messages containing a Social Security Number. Please call our office directly, or use mail services to send us correspondence or documents containing sensitive data. Students, faculty, staff and alumni should never use email to transmit Social Security Numbers or other sensitive data such as credit card information, passwords, or account information.
