[1] 3XX(1) indicates an upper-level conversation course that emphasizes oral proficiency at the beginning of the major sequence; for example, Spanish 306: Advanced Spanish Conversation.
[1] 3XX(2) indicates an upper-level elective course. To earn credit for such a course, a student must score at least an Adv. Low (categories III-IV) or Adv. Mid (categories I-II) on both the Oral Proficiency Interview and the Writing Proficiency Test.
