Degree Works

Degree Works is a web-based degree-auditing and tracking tool which enables students and advisors to evaluate academic progress toward graduation in accordance to requirements outlined in the College Catalog. This tool will allow students to quickly and easily identify which requirements have been satisfied, and which requirements are outstanding.

Degree Works is part of the Banner and Ellucian suite of software products. The new Degree Works system is designed to work in concert with our existing Banner tools and services, and will provide seamless communication between a student's Banner academic history and the degree audit.

What's New!

Although Degree Works at SUNY Cortland was implemented in 2015, an update was implemented in Fall 2021.  The most notable change of this new version is the introduction of a "responsive dashboard". The responsive dashboard enhances the user experience with an update of the User Interface (UI) - the look, feel, and navigation capabilities. The new user interface introduces a design where information is clustered in “visual cards” to enhance the user experience when using Degree Works. The contents of the visual cards drives the card to adapt its size to that of different devices and screens, enhancing the user experience through a responsive user interface. An immediate advantage of the card UI is that it provides a more personalized user experience, making the entire interface more simple, clear, and balanced.
