Tuesday Classes to End Early Due to Weather

SUNY Cortland will end classes early Tuesday, Nov. 26, in anticipation of an east coast storm that could cause dangerous driving conditions for students traveling home for Thanksgiving break.

All Tuesday classes scheduled to begin at 1:15 p.m. or later are canceled to allow students adequate travel time. Classes are slated to resume at 8 a.m. Monday, Dec. 2, as originally scheduled.

Weather forecasters have suggested a nor’easter is possible Tuesday and Wednesday and that it could bring a mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain to the East Coast. Potentially dangerous driving conditions are expected both days, prompting College President Erik J. Bitterbaum to end classes early in the interest of student safety.

SUNY Cortland students who need to travel home before 1:15 p.m. Tuesday should communicate directly with their professors.
