Transcript Ordering Options

OPTION 1: Online Expedited Ordering With Service Fee 

Students may make a transcript request online for expedited direct mailing, Federal Express mailing or electronic delivery.  A school processing fee applies per recipient for all online orders, and additional mailing fees may apply depending on the service you select. While charges apply for services, there is no charge for the transcript, which is provided as part of the semester transcript/document management fee.

OPTION 2: Traditional Ordering and In Person Pickup With No Service Fees

Students may make a transcript request using  traditional services by completing the PDF request form or stopping by the office for on-demand service or pickup.  Traditional orders are performed in the office and have no service fees associated with them.   In addition, there is no charge for the transcript, which is provided as part of the semester transcript/document management fee. 

Option 1: Online Expedited Ordering and eTranscripts

Students with access to myRedDragon can order easily through the portal. (Located in the Registrar channel, on the Student tab.) When ordering through myRedDragon, your information will be automatically provided and authenticated, and a signature page will generally not be required. If you do not have myRedDragon access, you may still order online by using using the alumni online ordering page. Additional authentication steps may be required if you order through the alumni page. Online web-based ordering and tracking has no per-transcript charge, and a $2.25 service charge.

SUNY Cortland has retained Credentials Inc. to accept transcript orders over the Internet via the secure Credentials eScripSafe Network.  Students may request a transcript online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week using the enhanced online ordering service TranscriptsPlus. Online requests offer benefits over traditional mail-in or fax-in orders. 

  • You can request either a paper transcript OR an eTranscript online.

  • All current students and alumni may request paper transcripts using the enhanced services.  

  • Students attending SUNY Cortland beginning in 1991 or later may request eTranscripts using the enhanced services.

  • Submit a transcript request 24/7 from any secure web browser.

  • The ordering services use web encryption technology, ensuring your information is secured.

  • You will receive notifications via email and/or text messaging as your request is being validated, processed and shipped. You will also receive a notification if there is a problem processing your transcript request, or if a hold exists on your account.

  • You may check the status of your order online at any time.

  • You may select an option online to request that we hold the processing of your transcript for final grades and/or the posting of your degree. 

  • You will have access to overnight delivery options from Federal Express along with online tracking of a delivery when expedited shipping is required. 

  • Online orders may qualify for "automatic authorization" in lieu of submitting any signed authorization form.

  • Support for online ordering is available toll-free at 1-800-646-1858. (There is an additional operator surcharge for placing orders over the telephone.)

$2.25 School Processing Fee is charged by Credentials Solutions when using any enhanced/expedited service. There is no mailing fee for electronic transcripts.

For any paper transcript orders placed online only, there is a $2.30 Mailing Charge in addition to the processing fee to cover the cost of the direct mailing.

There is no per-transcript charge. The cost of the actual transcript is covered by your semester fee.

Transcript Order Status

If you ordered your transcript online, you may also review the status of your order.  The online lookup tools also give you the ability to cancel uncompleted orders, obtain authorization forms, upload a scanned authorization form, request a copy of your receipt, review  recipients on your order, review the communication history with you and update a credit card that has failed the request for reauthorization.

Fedex Delivery

If you elect to use rush shipping, there will be an additional cost for FedEx services. FedEx shipping is calculated based on the service your select, and the shipping address.  FedEx shipping costs will vary.  You may also consider using the eTranscript option for lower cost and more immediate delivery. 


SUNY Cortland eTranscripts may be ordered via the online services.  Students who have attended beginning 1991 or later, are eligible to use eTranscript services.  

Option 2: Traditional Service (Mail-in or Fax-in)

Students may fax, mail, or bring a transcript request to the Registrar's office using the Transcript Request Form.

There are no additional fees or mailing charges associated with traditional services.

Walk-in or In-Person Service

Students may come to Miller Building, Room 223 to order transcripts in person. Students may either receive the transcripts directly (with officially issued ID) or request that we send transcripts to a third party using standard U.S. Mail. No School Processing Fees are charged for in-person services. There is no additional charge to order and mail a paper transcript using in-person services.
