Register child(ren) for the SUNY Cortland Virtual Summer Tutoring Program
Program details:
- We accept students who are entering Grades 1 through Grades 5 for our FREE elementary summer literacy tutoring program done virtually.
- The program runs from Monday June 29, 2026 - Friday July 31, 2026 (Note: Holidays will be observed on Friday July 3, 2026).
- Your child will work with a tutor for one hour per day in a small group setting, Monday through Friday, at one of the times that you provide on the registration form. Times are listed in Eastern Time.
- Your child will be assessed and tutored in foundational skills (e.g., phonics, spelling, fluency, vocabulary), comprehension, and writing at their point of need.
- All tutors are New York State Certified Teachers pursuing a graduate degree in literacy education at SUNY Cortland.
- The program is FREE and open to elementary students entering Grades 1 through 5 nationwide!
If you have any questions or changes to make to an existing application, please contact Leah VanDonsel ([email protected]) using the subject line "Literacy Tutoring Questions."
Please note: We cannot guarantee that all children who sign up for the program will be placed. Because the State Education Department of New York requires that graduate students fulfill a specified number of tutoring hours, all children recommended for the SUNY Cortland virtual summer literacy tutoring program may be recorded for the purpose of graduate student supervision only, protected by SUNY Cortland servers.
