Advanced Certificate in Teacher Leadership

The Next Step Towards Teacher Leadership

It takes only four courses to earn a marketable credential that also counts towards a Certificate of Advanced Study (C.A.S.).

SUNY Cortland’s 12-credit Advanced Certificate in Teacher Leadership can be obtained by education leaders who hold a master’s degree and have at least three years of teaching experience.

Remember the benefits:

  • A stackable credential for teachers who are interested in becoming department chairs, grade-level coordinators, lead teachers or academic coaches;
  • Coursework taught in a hybrid format — online learning and five campus visits per semester;
  • Higher-level training on topics such as curricular leadership, supervision and organizational change; and
  • A formalized introduction to SUNY Cortland’s three C.A.S. programs: School Building Leader (SBL), School District Leader (SDL) and School District Business Leader (SDBL).
