Management of Leisure Services

You will learn about supervision, marketing, event planning, project management and providing the public with opportunities for memorable recreation experiences. Classes are designed to build your professional skills in areas such as managerial communication, negotiation, problem solving, dealing with politics and leading change.

Hands-on learning is central to our work. You will work on meaningful projects for local organizations. Additionally, you may complete your studies with an internship capstone experience or a master’s project or thesis. You’ll hone your newfound skills and gain valuable experience. In short, you’ll be prepared for lifelong growth and career success.

Student Life Center

This one-of-a-kind facility, which opened its doors in 2015, serves as a hub of campus recreation because it offers something for everyone – from rock climbing walls to a deluxe swimming pool to 13,000 square feet of exercise space. There even are specialty areas for outdoor pursuits, martial arts, meditation, spinning, yoga and much more. Whether it’s for personal recreation or to gain practical work experience, recreation management students excel here.
