Campus Champion

Senior Elizabeth Verboys has brought a strong voice and strong action to Cortland. As president of Students Advocating for Empowerment and Resilience, Elizabeth is lead coordinator and promoter for this year’s Take Back the Night march on Oct. 28 — using her own personal story to let survivors of sexual assault know they’re not alone. After graduation, the dual business economics and communication studies major plans to continue growing Wisdom Wings, a nonprofit she created in high school that supplies care packages to organizations supporting all survivors of abuse and domestic and sexual violence.
