Group Exercise Class Descriptions

GROUP EXERCISE CLASS DESCRIPTIONS - Fall 2022

Foundational Strength - This is a circuit style class designed to educate and empower participants. In just 60-minutes participants will learn about and move through each of the fundamental movement patterns (squat, hinge, lunge, push, pull, and core). By participating in this class one will begin to develop the foundation needed to progress on their own fitness journey. This class is great for people of all skill sets and abilities! 

Gentle Yoga- This yoga class offers participants a relaxing experience while working on foundational asanas (postures) to strengthen and stretch the body. Let stress melt away in an environment that emphasizes mindfulness and breathwork. All levels are welcome!

Hatha Yoga - This class combines physical postures (asana), breathwork (pranayama), and mindfulness (dharana) to create a complete system of exercise for the mind, body and soul. Classes will help students build confidence, strength, and balance while learning the basics of Yoga. Classes will have an emphasis on foundational postures and posture series. All levels are welcome!

Indoor Cycling - A fun, high energy cardio workout! The instructor motivates you to bike at various resistances and through different courses of hills and sprints. Open to all fitness levels. All Indoor Cycling classes take place in the Spinning Room on the first floor of the Student Life Center.

Kickboxing Cardio - This class is for the ones who want to workout and have fun doing it. You will feel the burn from head to toe through learned techniques. Such as punching, kicking, and pad work. Feel the release of worry and stress while you sweat!

Mobility Flow - Melt away your stress in this restorative class that focuses on mobility, stretching, and countering daily movement patterns to bring your body back into balance. Learn to become more connected to your body and recenter your mind in a comfortable environment.

Noon Yoga - The format of this class includes centering, warm-up, work-phase, balance, deeper stretching and relaxation. There is a strong emphasis on letting go of any judgment, competition and/or expectations you may have for yourself or among others. Regular participation in yoga helps to lengthen and strengthen muscles, maintain healthy organs, promote greater body awareness, and aids in developing a greater union between mind, body and breath.

PumpFit - A full-body low weight, high repetition barbell workout for anyone looking to get lean, toned and fit. The class utilizes the tempo of upbeat music for a high intensity workout while catering to individual abilities with variations of weight choices. 

Swim Aerobics - A low-impact exercise class in shallow water using water resistance, dumbbells, and pool noodles. This class incorporates cardio and strength to improve overall coordination, joint and heart health, stability, and strength. This class is an excellent way to start your morning and to exercise regardless of age or ability!

Total Body - A low impact, upbeat, full body workout, great for all levels of fitness! This class will focus on adding definition to your physique with higher reps and lower weight.

Zumba - A full body dance class which acts as a cardio and toning workout. Come dance to Latin music!
