How to Report a Phish
Before submitting any phishing (email scam) message to us, please check the Recently Reported Phishes to see if others have already reported it.
Reporting a phishing (email) scam:
Please forward the offending email to phishing@cortland.edu we will take a look, after verifying the scam we will block the email and reporting the offending site.
Unfortunately, just hitting the forward button in your email to send a phishing message doesn't provide all of the needed information for shutting down the scammers who sent it. Email messages contain a lot of hidden information, and that information is dropped with a standard forward or reply. When reporting a phishing email, it may be necessary&;for a Systems Administrator to "pull" the original email from your account.
