Weekly Opportunities

Sunday

Worship

  • Worship: attend church with Rachel in the morning at any number of local congregations. Rachel will inform the group and arrange for pick-up and drop-off.
  • Interfaith Crew Club Meeting: 7 p.m. - The Interfaith Crew meets to discuss life, faith, and our world.

Monday at Noon

Faculty/Staff Bible Study. Join us as we explore our faith and the world around us. Dig deep with the Bible to explore our role in the world. Don’t forget to bring your lunch!

Tuesday at 12:05 p.m.

Chapel: Students, faculty and staff gather for a 30-minute time of worship. Sometimes we are quiet and contemplative. Sometimes we raise our voices in song. We always share our joys, concerns and prayers for the entire SUNY Cortland family.

Periodically, special guests join us for our series called “This I Believe.” Our guests are invited to share the principles that guide their living. At the end of the year, our seniors take their turn in sharing their “This I Believe” statements.

Thursday from 4:30-6:30 p.m.

Stuff that Matters: We gather at 4:30 p.m. to cook together. We eat by 5:15 p.m., and we are cleaned up by 6:30. As we gather, we talk about the stuff that matters to the people who are around the table.

We’ve had interesting conversations about:

  • how to solve roommate issues.
  • whether giving up chocolate for Lent includes the Sundays in Lent.
  • effective strategies for registering for classes.
  • the family traditions that students treasure.
  • who will run for president and why.

We celebrate birthdays and successes; we trouble shoot solutions for problems, even as we grow into a community of good friends.

Oh, by the way, the meal is free and everyone is welcome.
