Spring 2021 Departure Planning

SUNY Cortland students are required to participate in a departure process at the end of Spring 2021 semester to help ensure the health and safety of their home communities.

Please note:

  • Students who are using a campus pool testing result to confirm their departure are required to depart within five days of their final testing date.
  • All students have the option to test off campus and submit a negative test result through myRedDragon within 48 hours of their departure.
  • All campus residents must follow the Residence Life and Housing checkout process for identifying a move-out time.
  • Off-campus students must complete and submit the off-campus departure planning notification.
  • Students who tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 90 days are exempt from departure testing. If proof of their positive test is not already on file, they must submit proof of the recent positive test through the upload portal accessible through the COVID tab in myRedDragon. Campus residents must still follow the Residence Life and Housing checkout process for identifying a move-out time.

Details

Campus residents

  • Continue to report for weekly pool testing through the end of the semester.
  • Select a campus pool testing appointment — offered Monday, Tuesday and Friday — based on your intended date of departure. You must test within five days of your departure or you will need to schedule a new appointment.
  • Show up for your scheduled campus pool testing appointment. This test result must be “presumed negative” before departing. You will be sent detailed instructions about move-out.
  • If you are using results from a COVID-19 test conducted off campus, you must submit a negative test result within 48 hours of your departure. You must submit it through the test results upload portal accessible through the COVID tab in myRedDragon.
  • Campus residents who supply a negative result from an off-campus test will be sent detailed instructions about move-out.
  • In order to schedule your residence hall checkout, log in to myRedDragon, select the Student tab, scroll down to the Housing section and click the Housing Processes and Information link:
    • If you are departing campus on or before Friday, May 14, select a date and time for checkout. Note that checkout times are capped at 25 residents per time slot for each residence hall to minimize density. You will receive additional instructions from Residence Life and Housing on how to complete the move-out process.
    • If you are departing campus after Friday, May 14, select the Forms tab on the left side of the page. Complete the Late Stay Request Form, which is due by noon on Wednesday, May 12. You will receive additional details from Residence Life and Housing on the late-stay process.

Off-campus students
