NYSACE Conference

BRINGING BACK THE JOY: THE THINKING STRATEGIES MEET COMMON CORE STANDARDS (K-8)

KEYNOTE SPEAKER - Susan Zimmermann

An internationally-known speaker, workshop leader and consultant, Susan Zimmermann is the co-author of Mosaic of Thought (1997, 2nd editon 2007), 7 Keys to Comprehension (2003) and Comprehension Going Forward (2011), educational best-sellers that are changing the way reading is taught in classrooms throughout America.  Susan co-founded and served as the executive director of Denver's Public Education and Business Coalition.  During her ten years there, she initiated numerous programs to improve the quality of public schools, including the Reading Project, which provides many of the examples in Mosaic of Thought and 7 Keys.

Fee:

$45 includes morning refreshments, buffet lunch, and conference materials. 

Registration:

Preregistration is required with deadline date of Tuesday, March 13, 2012.

Whether your district uses MyLearningPlan or not, any educator can register via MyLearningPlan.com through School Improvement Services at Tompkins-Seneca-Tioga BOCES (www.tstboces.org). Registration fee and substitute cost are BOCES aidable through CoSer 505.6212 direct or through cross-contract with TST BOCES.   

IF YOU ARE FROM A MLP DISTRICT:  

Go to www.mylearningplan.com.
Make certain you log in with your User Name and Password from your district's internal system. This assures the correct approval flow. 

  • Choose the TST BOCES catalog.
  • Scroll down to view the current activity calendar.
  • Click on the NYSACE Conference.  
  • Click on Click to Enroll at the very top or bottom of the screen.  
  • Update personal information.
  • Choose appropriate payment type.
  • Click on Confirmation, then click on the orange I Agree.
  • Follow your district's procedure for registering for a conference.
  • You are not officially enrolled until TST BOCES receives payment information AND approval via MyLearningPlan.

FOR ALL OTHER DISTRICTS:  
 

  • Go to www.tstboces.org.
  • Click on MyLearningPlan in the orange menu bar.  
  • Scroll down to view the current activity catalog.
  • Click on NYSACE Conference.
  • Click on Click to Enroll at the very top or bottom of the screen.  
  • Click on I am a new user, if you are a new user or click I'm a registered user, if you already have an account with MyLearningPlan WebReg.
  • Update personal information.
  • Choose payment type.
  • Click Confirmation; then click on the orange I Agree.
  • Click on the green Print Enrollment Form.
  • Click on Click here to view/print "Bringing Back the Joy: The Thinking Strategies Meet Common Core Standards" and print form.
  • Follow your district's procedure for registering for a conference and submit the printed Enrollment Form to your administrator for final approval and signatures.
  • Send signed Enrollment Form to School Improvement Services at TST BOCES at (607) 257-2825 or through BOCES mail.
  • You are not officially enrolled until TST BOCES receives payment information AND the signed enrollment form.
