Other-SUNY Study Abroad Programs
As a SUNY Cortland student, you are eligible to study abroad on any SUNY Study Abroad Program! Here’s How!
---> Search for Programs at www.sunysystemabroad.com
---> Make sure you go to the other SUNY study abroad website for up to date program application instructions and deadlines.
---> Program specific questions should be directed to the other SUNY study abroad advisor.
---> Complete and submit 'Other SUNY Application Form' to SUNY Cortland International Programs Office.
---> To be approved for Cortland credit you must complete an ‘Overseas “Blue” Course Approval’ form with academic advisor and associate dean signatures.
--------> It is your responsibility to be prepared when you meet with your academic advisor and associate dean by having course selections, descriptions and/or syllabi available.
---> You will need to be registered here at Cortland in order for your study abroad grades and credits to be accepted. Once we have your application and course approval form on file, we will create a special SAB (study abroad) section that indicates the other SUNY you are studying abroad through and the study abroad program location.
--------> You will be notified when to register
--------> You will need your pin from your advisor to register
--------> Semester students will be registered for 12 credits- this is just a full time status placeholder. The actual credits you will earn will be determined by the courses you take abroad and your course approval.
---> You will receive a bill from SUNY Cortland for tuition and some fees. Your study abroad program fee will be billed by the other SUNY.
---> Plan to attend pre-departure orientations at SUNY Cortland and at the other SUNY.
