The Spanish Language Institute, Center for Latin American Studies program is designed to provide you with an ideal learning environment which is conducive to thinking, writing and speaking naturally in Spanish within the context of real-life situations. It is a functional program based on the natural approach to language acquisition which encourages you to develop your Spanish language skills and to discover Mexican culture as you experience life in a Spanish-speaking environment. It is a fact that the best way to acquire a language is through total immersion; thus, the Spanish Language Institute requires you to live with a host family so you can practice Spanish and enjoy Spanish culture throughout your stay.
