Students will be awarded academic credit and a SUNY Cortland transcript based on the number of hours worked. For each academic credit earned, the student must complete 40 hours of work on the job. In general, full semester interns receive 15 credits and summer interns will receive 8 credits. In most cases credit will count as "elective credits". Placements are available in almost any field. Previous interns have worked in film, museums, social work agencies, jewelry making, historic preservation, women's organizations, banks and many other areas. Applications submit a list of preferred areas of placement, along with a resume and cover letter. Once the placement has been made, each student receives a brief job description. Working with the Director of Dublin Internships, each student develops a learning agreement, specifying the final paper or project. Students also keep journals. Internships are graded "satisfactory/unsatisfactory" only. |
| Accommodations |
Interns live in apartments, in shared accommodations, usually with other interns working in the greater Dublin area. Presently, all interns will be housed in Shanowen Hall. |
