The University of Ballarat was established in Australia's timeless bushland at the base of Mount Helen. Since the university's inception, the student population has grown to more than 18,000 students undertaking studies in 50 specialized areas across nine schools. Tremendous resources are available at the university, including superb library facilities, an ultra-modern aquatic fitness center, a gymnasium, and numerous shops and cafes for you to enjoy.

The city of Ballarat has a unique small-town feel, with many big-city amenities within walking distance or a short bus ride. With 82,000 residents, Ballarat enjoys a wide variety of services, including many educational institutions, medical services, places of worship, clubs, cinemas, shopping centers, world-class sporting facilities and celebrated tourist destinations such as Sovereign Hill, Eureka Stockade Center, and Ballarat Wildlife Park.

  1. SUNY application
  2. Univeristy of Ballarat Application
  3. Copy of biographical page of your passport
  4. Official Transcript: Please send to SUNY Cortland International Programs Office, 219 Old Main, PO Box 2000, Cortland, NY 13045

 The Course Approval Form (due May 1st) is to be submitted by SUNY Cortland students only. Non-Cortland students must speak with their home campus study abroad office for information on the course approval process.

Non-Cortland students must return completed Judicial Review and Code of Conduct forms along with application.

Departure Date from University of Ballarat: June 26th, 2012

Fall 2012 Travel Dates:

Departure Date from U.S.:  July 6, 2012 (Arrive Ballarat July 8, 2012)

Accepted students will receive an updated budget as a part of their acceptance packet.

This program qualifies for an Exchange Award, which can result in considerable savings on the total program cost. The Exchange Award is available to SUNY Cortland students only. Please contact International Programs to obtain an application for the award and an exchange budget for this program.
