Welcome to the SUNY Cortland Study Abroad Admitted Student site!

This site will help prepare you to take full advantage of your experiences abroad. Please take the time to navigate the admitted student links on the left-hand menu bar of this page to prepare yourself for your adventures and this exciting time of your life.

Prior to your departure:

  • Do you still have questions about your academic program abroad or do you simply want to learn more about your destination?  Email a faculty member here at SUNY Cortland or your international program site director from the professional mentors list.

  • Would you like a student's perspective on your international destination? Email one of our student mentors for packing advice and useful tips.

  • Have you misplaced any of the forms required for your overseas experience? If so, don't fret, you may download and print all required forms that were mailed to you in your acceptance packet. Once you have completed the forms, simply return them to the Clark Center for International Education by the requested deadline.

  • Have you heard of culture shock, Skype, or Neovox?  Are you trying to determine whether or not you need shots to go abroad?  Do you have adequate international health insurance coverage?  To find answers to these questions, review these helpful links to make sure that you are fully prepared to lead the adventurous life of an expat!

  • Are you familiar with SUNY Cortland's study abroad policies? Do you still have questions about how to conduct your daily life while abroad?  Make sure to carefully read and familiarize yourself with the Clark Center for International Education's Study Abroad Manual.  This manual discusses many important matters such as international health insurance, finances abroad, health and safety overseas, as well as how to register for courses on your home campus from your foreign destination. This manual will be very helpful to you; you may even want to print it and bring it with you.  Please also share the manual with your parents.

  • Are you all set to depart? Just to make sure you didn't forget anything, be sure to review the predeparture checklist
