Habitat for Humanity International is a nonprofit housing organization that seeks to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from the world.
SUNY Cortland’s campus chapter is a student-run organization that follows in the ideas and values of Habitat International. We work closely with our local affiliate, Tompkins-Cortland Habitat for Humanity, and participate in builds with them as well as other colleges in the area. Habitat provides a service for students to give back to their communities through building homes for less fortunate families. We help to raise awareness about hunger and homelessness and give students the opportunity to help people and make a difference.
