Painter, Hall Groat Sr, an American Impressionist painter, is a native of Syracuse, N.Y., where he studied painting; worked towards his Master of Fine Arts degree and began his lifelong career as an artist. Groat has dedicated his entire full-time professional career, spanning over 40 years, to pursuing his passion for art.
Painter, Hall Groat II, professor and chair of Art and Design at SUNY Broome Community College, teaches foundation courses in painting, drawing, color theory and computer graphics.
Come by the Beard Gallery to see Hall Groat, Sr.'s impressionist landscapes of local nature and New York City scapes and Hall Groat II's depictions of delectable desserts and other still life paintings.

Call for Artists: Solo Show at the Beard Gallery
Send proposals via email for a solo show at the Beard Gallery to Cortland County Cultural Council. The proposal should include a brief biography, title and description of proposed exhibit and jpeg images of up to six of the works for the exhibit. The gallery show is sponsored by the Cultural Council of Cortland County and the Cortland Downtown Partnership.
The Beard Gallery, located at 9 Main St., is a collaborative effort of SUNY Cortland, the Cortland Downtown Partnership and the Cultural Council of Cortland County. The gallery space is open to the public weekdays from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
