Getting Things Done for America

Student learning about Americorps opportunitiesEach year, AmeriCorps offers opportunities for adults of all ages and backgrounds to serve their communities through a network of partnerships with local and national non-profit groups.

As an AmeriCorps member, you’ll gain new skills and experiences and find tremendous satisfaction in helping others. In addition, full time members who complete their service earn a Segal Education Award of $5,550 to pay for college, graduate school or to pay back qualified student loans. Members who serve part-time receive a partial award.

AmeriCorps members also receive a living allowance ($12,100 for a full time member) during their term of service, and full time members are eligible for benefits such as health care. You may also be able to forbear payment of some student loans while serving in AmeriCorps.
