Dear Parents and Family Members:
I hope this find you and your student looking forward to a fabulous 2009-2010 year. As you may know, our summer here in Cortland has been particularly busy hosting the NY Jets trainig camp, and I must say it has been an exceptional experience for us and a wonderful opportunity for many student interns. Still, we are looking forward to settling back into being your student's educational institution.
What new students already know and returning students have only partially experienced is the new web portal, "myRedDragon." Briefly, this is where students go to do all of their transactions and get information. It will be a better way of "posting" events, notices, activities, deadlines, etc., and students will have to go to the portal to find out what they need or want to know. We will no longer be flooding e-mail mailboxes. The current e-mail distributions lists will cease to exist come October. Students will need to get in the habit of visiting the Student Life Tab to find out what's happening on campus.
Finally, you have probably heard of the H1N1 flu concerns as students return to school. Please take a minute and click on the H1N1 Update. This site will be updated as we receive more information. As with any illness, the best defense is prevention. Please remind your student about the importance of preventive practices.
I hope you find the information on this Web site helpful. Please encourage your student to connect with the many services and programs offered at Cortland. Students will find the relationships they build will help them today and in the future.
If you have any suggestions for how this site can be improved or additional information you would like included on the sidebar, as always, please feel free to e-mail the SUNY Cortland Student Affairs Office SUNY Cortland Student Affairs Office.
