Full Summer Session (10-week): May 20 - Aug 3

Summer Session I: May 20 - June 24

Term A: May 20 - June 8

Term B: June 9 - June 24

Summer Session II: June 29 - Aug 3

Term C: June 29 - July 14

Term D: July 15 - Aug 3

*No classes in observance of Memorial Day on May 25 and Independence Day on July 3.

Frequently Asked Questions

The same time tickets and pins used for Fall 2020 apply to Summer Session. Students will register for Summer Session via MyRedDragon for the duration that online registration is open. As the term approaches, the process will move to an alternate registration method. The Registration FAQ page provides the specific registration dates and methods for current students. Please encourage students to register for Summer Session when they register for their Fall 2020 courses.

How many credits can a student take during Summer Session?

Matriculated undergraduate students may register for 7 credit hours in each Summer Session (I and II). Matriculated graduate students may register for 8 credit hours in each Summer Session (I and II).

Terms A, B, C, and D feature intensive 3-credit hour courses. Students may only take one 3-credit hour course during each of these terms. Students may, however, take an intensive course and a longer course at the same time. For example, students cannot take two 3-credit hour courses in Term A, but they may take a Term A course and a Session I course at the same time.

Financial aid is available for Summer Session provided a student is enrolled in at least 6 credit hours and completes a summer aid application. Students should be referred to their financial aid advisor regarding aid in Summer Session.

Questions regarding billing, payments and refunds should be directed to Student Accounts at bursar@cortland.edu. For information regarding the cost of Summer Session, please visit the Summer Session 2020 Tuition page. Summer bills are currently due on May 1. Registrations processed after May 1 will require immediate payment. Summer courses must be paid for prior to the course beginning or students will be de-registered.
