Available Services

The following services are available at Cortland during both Summer Session I and II.


Child Care

The SUNY Cortland Child Care Center is open throughout the year, Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. In addition, the SUNY Cortland Child Care Center offers a six week Summer School Age Program for elementary school children ages 5-12. Activities include swimming, field trips, arts and crafts, and sports of all kinds. College Store


The College Store in Neubig Hall carries all required textbooks, both new and used, school and computer supplies, as well as clothing, gifts, snacks and sundries. Summer hours are Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. The College Store will be open extended hours until 6 p.m., on the first two nights of each summer session. The store will be closed on May 31 for Memorial Day, June 30 for inventory.

For students' convenience, textbook mail orders may be placed on the ASC Web site. To place a textbook order, click on textbooks, then follow the instructions to complete an order.

Food Service

The Hilltop dining facility will be open Monday through Friday from 8a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Students residing on campus are not required to purchase a meal plan but are encouraged to use their Connections account. The Connections account receives a 10% discount in all dining facilities and can also be used for the College Store, campus laundry, network print/copy, vending services and participating off campus dining locations. Additional information is located on the ASC Web site. The ASC Office is open Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. and can be reached at (607) 753-4627.

Housing

Accommodations are available on campus for undergraduate and graduate students. If you plan to live on campus, housing reservations should be arranged in advance by completing a housing reservation form. Please contact Jean Brown in the Residence Life and Housing Office at (607) 753-4723.

I.D. Cards

Students who have photo I.D. cards from the spring or fall semesters at SUNY Cortland may use those cards in the summer. To obtain a new card, students must be registered and have their college identification number. The SUNY Card is a multifunctional, video-imaged card with electronic verification capability. The SUNY Card provides online access for dining services, vending, library, network print/copy, on-campus laundry service, health service and fitness center access. For the on-campus student this proximity card is also needed for keyless entry to the residence halls. The SUNY Card is issued by the ASC Office in Neubig Hall. A $10 fee is charged for the initial card; the fee to replace a lost or stolen card is $15. Temporary residence hall proximity cards are available nights and weekends at the University Police Office in the case of lost/stolen cards. ASC office hours are Monday through Friday 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Library Hours

Summer session library hours will be:
May 26- June 30, 2010
Monday–Thursday, 7:45 a.m. - 11 p.m.
Friday, 7:45 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Saturday, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.

July 5 - August 5, 2010
Monday–Thursday, 7:45 a.m. - 11 p.m.
Friday, 7:45 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Saturday, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.

On the last day of each summer Session, June 30 and August 5, the Library will be open 7:45 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. For Memorial Day the Library will be closed from Saturday, May 29 through Monday, May 31. For Independence Day the Library will be closed Saturday, July 5 through Sunday, July 6. The Library will be closed on Sundays.

Between sessions, the Library will be open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday and closed on the weekends. Changes will be posted at the library and on the library Web page.

Parking

Students who do not already have a 2009 - 10 parking permit should obtain one from the University Police Parking Department in Van Hoesen Hall, Room B-38. Please bring your vehicle registration with you. There will be a $18.40 vehicle registration fee for one summer session. If you attend both sessions, the parking fee will be $29.20. The University Police Parking Department, is open 7 a.m. - 4 p.m., Monday - Friday, or you may register on the University Police Web site. Please call (607) 753-4123 if you have questions concerning parking.
