End of Semester Closing
Residence halls will close at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, May 9 with the following exceptions:
- If you have a Wednesday evening final you can receive permission from your RHD to stay until 9 a.m. on Thursday, May 10. E-mail your RHD by noon on Monday, May 7.
- If you have extenuating circumstances or transportation problems you may receive approval to stay later than 5 p.m. on May 9, but must request permission from your RHD via e-mail by noon on Monday, May 7. Students with permission to stay must be out of the building by Thursday, May 10 at 9 a.m.
- Residential students involved with Commencement may stay until 6 p.m. on
Saturday, May 12 and graduating seniors with families staying in Commencement housing may be approved to stay until Sunday, May 13. You must register with your RHD via e-mail by noon on Monday, May 7.
If you are seriously inconvenienced by this schedule you must discuss the problem with your RHD by Monday, May 7 by noon to see if alternate arrangements can be made.
You must completely vacate your room within 24 hours of completing your last exam, but not later than 5 p.m. on Wednesday, May 9 unless you have approval from your RHD to stay later.
There is no summer storage of any items for any length of time in any residence hall. All items will be disposed of or donated that are left in the residence hall after Sunday, May 13.
You must clean your room thoroughly and check out with an RA or the RHD (at the staff office.) If you do not check out properly will be billed $25 for improper check out. If you wish to have your room assessed for damages in the presence of the RHD, please make an appointment on the signup sheets on the RHD’s office door. Sign up 24 hours in advance. The room must be clean and TOTALLY empty of belongings and you must meet your RHD at their office at the time of your appointment.
Guests are not permitted to stay overnight in the residence halls beginning on study days, Wednesday, May 2 through closing.

The residence halls will close and re-open as listed below. More detailed information will be provided as the break approaches. Please see your RA or RHD for more information.

- Close on Wed., May 9, 2012 at 5 p.m. for those not participating in commencement
- Close on Sat., May 12, 2012 at 6 p.m. for commencement particpants
- Close on Sun., May 13, 2012 at 11 a.m. for approved commencement participants
