Undergraduates: Now is the Time to Apply to Graduate!
If you are an undergraduate student who has earned a minimum of 85 credit hours, you are now eligible to apply to graduate. Please note that courses that you are currently taking are not included in the 85 hours. Also note that applying to graduate and applying to participate in Commencement Ceremonies are two different processes. To apply to graduate:
- Log into myRedDragon (MRD)
- Select the "Student Tab"
- Select Degree and Diploma Application and follow the directions provided.
If you determine that you will not complete your requirements, and you need to change your graduation date, you are required to send an email to the Registrar to advise the College of the change:

Apply to Participate in the May 12, 2012 Commencement Ceremony
Any student completing all degree requirements in 2012 is eligible to participate in Commencement Ceremonies, but must apply in order to attend Commencement Ceremonies. The final application deadline is March 1, 2012. Applications to attend Commencement received after this date will not be accepted. Students in a Teacher Preparation Program
If you have not already opened an account in TEACH, please do so at this time as you will need to apply for your New York State Teacher Certification through this website: http://www.highered.nysed.gov/tcert/teach/home.html. You will also need to complete the Teacher Certification Recommendation Authorization Form and forward it to the Registrar’s Office in order for SUNY Cortland to make a recommendation to New York State for your teacher certification. If you do not complete this form, you will not be eligible for certification. The form is available at: http://www2.cortland.edu/dotAsset/218758.pdf.
