Sunset Hike at Tinker Falls

Join us for a leisurely 2 mile hike as we visit Tinker Falls and watch the sun set from a hang glider launch site on top of Jones Hill just 25 minutes away from campus!  No experience necessary and a snack is provided!

Sunset Paddle

Come learn how to paddle and enjoy the sunset on this local adventure! A light snack and all equipment will be provided. No experience necessary!

Intro to Camping

Come learn the basics of camping and explore the "Grand Canyon of the East" with us!  Our trip leaders will show you everything you need to know, take you on hikes, and take your picture at some stunning waterfalls! All food and equipment provided.  No experience necessary.

Bear Mountain State Park Weekend Camping

Join us as we head down to the Catskills Mountains and travel along the Appalachian Trail! Weekend activities will include hiking, climbing a fire tower with a 360 ° view of this beautiful National Heritage Area and more. All meals and equipment will be provide. No previous experience necessary!

October

ADK Fall Foliage and Trail Service Trip

Come stay at Antlers, SUNY Cortland's outdoor education facility located in the heart of the Adirondack Mountains for a weakened getaway!  On this trip we will do some light service work cleaning a local trail or campsite and explore the Adirondacks while the beautiful fall foliage is expected to peak.  All meals, and equipment provided!

Pharaoh Lake Backpacking

Join us for a weekend of backpacking in the Pharaoh Lake Wilderness. The 46,283-acre Pharaoh Lake Wilderness area is located north of Lake George in the Adirondack Park. Abandon modern comforts for a weekend to find something beyond your everyday life. This weekend hiking adventure will awaken your senses and revive your spirit. Pharaoh Mountain at 2,556 feet high, offers a 360-degree view of the vast Pharaoh Lake Wilderness area. All equipment and meals provided. No experience needed!

High Peaks Fall Break Backpacking Trip

Why go home for Fall Break when you can join us on our annual trip to the High Peaks region in the Adirondack Park instead? This more advanced backpacking trip will cover long distances up some rugged terrain to the top of some of the most coveted peaks in the Adirondacks. The journey will take place over the majority of our fall break, leaving campus on Saturday October 19 and returning Tuesday the 22. Previous backpacking experience preferred, hiking experienced required. All equipment and meals are provided for the duration of the trip. More details coming soon.

Apple Picking at Beak & Skiff

Come spend the day apple picking with us and enjoy the fall scenery with friends at Beak and Skiff Apple Orchard. This orchard has been in operation since 1911 and is in its fifth generation of family business. Come join us for a day of apple picking and enjoying the fall scenery. Transportation to and from Beak and Skiff will be provided. Bring your own money for any apples or goodies you may want to purchase!

November

Ithaca Waterfalls Adventure

Join us as we adventure to some of the most popular waterfalls in Ithaca. This day trip will include some light hiking and visits to Robert Treman State Park, Buttermilk Falls, Ithaca Falls, and Taughannock Falls State Park.  A light snack will be provided.  No experience necessary!

Central Rock Climbing Gym

Want to try rock climbing in a new environment? Check out Central Rock Climbing Gym with us on a Thursday night. All equipment is included as well as admission. You will have our very own rock wall staff and trip leaders with you on trip to help you reach your fullest potential on the rock wall at Central Rock.

Intro to Winter Camping

Enjoy camping? Join us and learn how camping can be a fun year round activity! On this trip you will learn how to enjoy winter camping from our trip leaders on an overnight camping trip right here in Cortland. No experience needed and all camping gear and food included.

Ice Skating at Clinton Square

What better way to start off the semester by going ice skating at Clinton Square? Join us as we travel to Syracuse for some outdoor ice skating. Admission to the rink and rentals included.
