Outdoor Pursuits

Outdoor Pursuits Program

The mission of the SUNY Cortland Recreational Sports Department is to provide a variety of recreational opportunities that contribute to the physical, emotional and social health of all members of our College community. We will continuously develop programs and activities for our participants to increase their positive use of leisure time, improve their quality of life and encourage them to commit to a lifetime of fitness and recreation participation.
Outdoor Pursuits strives to meet the mission of Recreational Sports and the Campus Priority of Transformational Education by offering a variety of adventure based activities available to all students, faculty and staff to increase their learning and leisure opportunities outside.

The Outdoor Pursuits Program strives to provide opportunities to all students and faculty/staff and has recently partnered with the Inclusive Recreation Resource Center to work towards offering a more inclusive opportunity to all.

Outdoor Pursuits consists of six main program areas:

  1. Adirondack Trail Blazers
  2. Tripping Program
  3. Workshop Series
