The North Atlantic regional playoffs will begin next weekend without SUNY Cortland for the first time in three years, after the Red Dragons were swept by UMass at home over the weekend. UMass swept the three game series by beating Cortland 15-1, 11-1, and 13-10 at Beaudry Park. With the losses, Cortland was eliminated from playoff contention and finished the regular season with a league record of 7-4. Despite the losses, the club is optimistic that 2011-2012 will see them return to their championship ways and claim a fourth North Atlantic - North division title.
