Informal/Open Recreation

Informal recreation is the unstructured, voluntary use of the recreation facilities. The staff in the Recreational Sports Department realizes the importance of this avenue of recreation and we make every effort to provide our students and faculty/staff with these recreational opportunities. Due to the increase in the Mandatory Student Activity Fee, the recreation facilities are continuously becoming more available to the campus community. Many facilities are open early in the morning and most facilities remain open until 11 p.m., Sunday through Thursday. Most facilities are also available until 10 p.m. throughout the weekend. We encourage all students and faculty/staff to take advantage of these hours.

STUDENTS - YOU NOW HAVE A BETTER ALTERNATIVE TO THE DOWNTOWN SCENE!!!

  • Faculty/staff currently employed at SUNY Cortland and their immediate family members
  • Retired faculty/staff
  • Alumni who have purchased a Club Rec/Fitness Facility membership
  • Current Club Recreation members
  • Guests of anyone listed above (Guest Passes are $5.00 each per day)

All Open Recreation hours are subject to change depending upon the Intramural Sport in progress and other special events. SUNY Cortland recreation facilities are available to SUNY Cortland students/faculty/staff, their spouses and dependents and Club Recreation members. All participants must present a valid SUNY Cortland photo I.D. card.
