Student and Alumni Services

Career Services provides assistance and resources for every aspect of career development, from choosing a major or career path, to developing the skills necessary to pursue one's goals. Among the many services offered are career counseling, access to career resource materials, workshops, and volunteer, internship, and/or employment opportunities.

SUNY Cortland alumni may take advantage of many of the services offered by Career Services well beyond graduation. Alumni are also encouraged to stay connected with their alma mater by sponsoring internships and job shadow opportunities when possible.

Career Library

Open during all office hours, the career library offers print and web materials to assist with your job or internship search, grad school research, and career changing options. The career resouce specialist will be able to assist you in locating the resources you need.

Counseling and Assessments

If you are looking at major or career changes, it may be beneficial to speak with one of our career counselors.  They can assist you in identifying possible career choices and help you to recognize how your skills and interests may line up with various options. Based on your needs, a counselor may recommend assessment tools including:

Available to all students and alumni, and free for employers, JobConnect is SUNY Cortland's own job posting site. Student employment, careers after graduation, internship and volunteering options are all available on the site.
