Lisa Allen, assistant director

Lisa is a graduate of Le Moyne College with an undergraduate degree in business administration. She has a Master of Arts degree from Binghamton University in Social Sciences with a concentration in Student Affairs and Diversity. Lisa came to the Career Services office from the Admissions Office, where she worked for four years. In her role as Assistant Director, Lisa assists students in all aspects of career planning. She also helps students with teacher certification. She serves as a staff justice for the Judicial Affairs Office and teaches COR 101. Outside of work, she likes to spend time with family and friends.

While earning both an undergraduate and graduate degree in education from SUNY Cortland, Michele's interest in learning new technologies most influenced her ultimate career choices. Serving in-office as assistant director/online operations specialist, she coordinates the college-wide graduate survey and the technology-related functions of the office while also providing career counseling and programming. Outside of the office, she is actively involved with her husband's custom paint and airbrushing business. She is a three-time recipient of SUNY Career Development Organization's President's Award.

Mickey is a certified townie as she grew up in Cortland. She is a graduate of the Rochester Institute of Technology with an undergraduate degree in Professional and Technical Communications, Advertising/Public Relations. Mickey came to the Career Services Office from Alumni Affairs, where she worked for over seven years. In her role as career resource specialist, Mickey manages the career library, works with recruiters and is the main contact for teacher certification questions in the office. She enjoys traveling, cooking and spending time with her family.

Courtney is the newest member to join the office. Courtney came to Career Services from Cayuga Correctional Facility in Moravia, where she spent the last 4 years as the primary secretary in the Personnel Office. As the credentials coordinator, Courtney is responsible for processing all student credential file requests during their enrollment at SUNY Cortland and beyond. She enjoys traveling, spending time with family and baking.

Calvin came to the Career Services Office from the Residence Life and Housing office, where he was a Residence Hall Director for four years. In his role as Coordinator of Student Employment Services, he is responsible for all phases of student employment services including coordinating the part-time job fair and summer job/internship fair. Calvin assists students in finding part time (non-work study) jobs while they are enrolled at SUNY Cortland. Calvin teaches COR 101 and is actively involved on campus. In his spare time Calvin enjoys visiting family and friends in the Finger Lakes region, traveling, and renovating houses.

A graduate of SUNY Oswego (B.S. - Management/Economics, 1981) and Clarkson University (M.B.A. - Marketing, 1983), John's areas of expertise include career development, volunteerism, internship program development and service learning. In addition to his responsibilities in Career Services, John has served as an adjunct instructor in business economics (since 1983) and is actively involved with a number of community-based organizations. John is a recipient of the SUNY Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Professional Service and the SUNY Career Development Organization's President's Award for Outstanding Service. John enjoys golf, travel, music, and spending time at home with his wife Karen, their two daughters Sara and Lauren.

Donna joined the office in 2006. She has been with SUNY Cortland since 1987 and has served in various departments such as; Classroom Media Services, Physical Education, and University Police. Donna enjoys cooking, music, golf and other sports.
