Welcome Message

Welcome to Graduate School at SUNY Cortland!

I’m the Coordinator of Graduate Student Support and through the Advisement and Transition Office I provide referral information, online support and information resources for our graduate student population.  My office is located in the Advisement and Transition office inside Memorial Library and I work with great staff here who are all ready to help and support you.  Keep reading for lots of helpful information and be sure to visit the Graduate Student Orientation page for details on your next steps to starting graduate school at SUNY Cortland.

At the beginning of each semester, I send a packet of information to new graduate students who have paid their admission deposit.  Please keep an eye out for this mailing that includes our Campus Resource Guide, a Graduate Student Support brochure designed to help students who are new to our campus, helpful tips on how to begin your semester, a campus map, and a list of online resources.

We’d love to meet you! So each semester I also plan a welcome reception just prior to the start of classes.  Your invitation will be included in your information packet.  This is a great opportunity to meet some folks on campus, your Associate Dean and other new graduate students.

There’s a lot to know about SUNY Cortland!  Perhaps you were an undergraduate here and recently (or not so recently) graduated. Or perhaps it’s been awhile since you took a college class.  That’s part of why I’m here. I can point you in the right direction, provide information on how to work with myRedDragon technology and share resources that will help you be successful.

Please visit the Graduate Student Support website often as I keep it updated throughout the year. You may want to pay particular attention to the link that directs you to Academic Policies for Graduate Students. I also publish an online newsletter with helpful tips, strategies and information you can use.

Please also visit and "Like" our SUNY Cortland Graduate Student Facebook page.  I will post helpful and timely information to the Wall there as well.  You can also connect with other graduate students at Cortland if you’d like.

Again, welcome to SUNY Cortland.  If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
