What is myRedDragon? MyRedDragon is the campus online portal. It provides a single point of access to email, announcements, information on campus events, eLearning, grades, course registration, financial aid, bill payment and many other online services. Users log in to myRedDragon using their SUNY Cortland NetID. Every student is expected to use his or her myRedDragon account on a regular basis. myRedDragon is organized into Tabs and Channels.
Tabs in myRedDragon are a way to organize information in an easy to navigate manner. Tabs appear across the top header within myRedDragon. Boxes of information are contained in tabs, and you can quickly navigate between tabs using the tab buttons.
Channels are the boxes of information within tabs and provide links to important information. Channels are organized by department or topics.
Access myRedDragon. Bookmark the login page – you should be accessing myRedDragon on a regular basis. Please note that if you leave your myRedDragon session open for some time without activity, you will be logged out and need to log back in.
When you are on the login page, note any “URGENT” Server Status messages. The servers may be experiencing issues that are being worked on. You may also want to check out the “Technology FAQs” or the “Student FAQs” links.
When you login, you need to use your “NetId”. Your NetId is your “firstname.lastname” (note the “.” between your names). If it is your first time logging in your password is your last name and the last four numbers of your Cortland ID (on your ID Card). You will be prompted to change your password when you log in for the first time. Be sure to complete this step to keep your information secure. If you have any issues logging in to myRedDragon, contact the Information Resources Support Center at 607-753-2500.
Pay particular attention to the My Announcements and Campus Announcements channels. They provide a mechanism to communicate with all users logging into the myRedDragon portal. Important information such as holds, account balances, and important alerts will be posted to the My Announcements channel. The Campus Announcements channel will be used for postings such as campus closures, emergencies, security alerts, and other information impacting the campus.
