To be eligible for Commencement tickets, students should first apply to graduate using myRedDragon by March 1.
Undergraduate students will receive four (4) guest tickets and one (1) student line-up ticket.
On March 24 the link will go live and you will be able to select your Commencement ceremony. Please note, as in the past, ceremony selection is on a first-come, first-served basis. You will only have access to this site if you have applied for graduation.
To participate in Commencement, you must purchase a diploma cover through the online ticketing process. Please have a credit card ready. The diploma cover is linked to your Student Line-Up Ticket (which you must bring with you the day of Commencement). The diploma cover will be handed to you as you walk across the stage.
As March 24 gets closer, you will receive a detailed checklist outlining the steps to select your Commencement ceremony and all items you must purchase in order to participate in Commencement.
Please note all Undergraduate Commencement tickets will be scanned at the door. The unique bar code on this ticket allows only one entry to the event.
The first copy of an E-Ticket (if there are multiple copies made) to arrive at the event will gain entry after scanning and validation. Other copies of this ticket will be denied entry. You should handle this E-Ticket as you would any other valuable or cash. Please be very cautious if someone offers to sell you this document. It has no official resale value and may be an unauthorized copy.
Student Line-Up Ticket
The student line up ticket allows entry into the Park Center, Alumni Arena. Once inside, the ticket permits students access to the check-in area, which is set up alphabetically by last name. The student lineup ticket will have "Student Lineup Ticket" printed direclty on it. Please do not dispose of this ticket. You MUST bring this ticket with you.
Each student will receive a 3" x 5" card with his/her first and last name. After receiving the name card, students will choose a row to line up in. Students may line up with friends. They remain in these rows as they process into the stadium.
Obtaining Extra Tickets
To obtain additional tickets, we encourage students to ask friends, roommates and classmates for tickets that they are not using. The College does not have any additional tickets available.
Guests who do not have a ticket may view the ceremony via live video feed in the overflow areas.
Students who have registered for one ceremony, but would like to switch to the other ceremony must contact the Special Events Coordinator for the President's Office at 607-753-5453 or Undergraduate.Commencement@cortland.edu.
Please note that Commencement is a formal ceremony and cap, gown, tassel, and diploma covers are required for participation. If you are planning to borrow a cap and gown, the diploma cover must be purchased in order to receive Commencement tickets (linked to the online ticketing process and your Student Line-Up Ticket).
